STAYING

in Mangalore

Getting There

Whether it’s your first time in Mangalore, or this city is home (or the home away from home), we want you to have the best time at our wedding. You’ll want to fly in to Mangalore International Airport, which has direct flights from Doha, Dubai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, and a handful of other cities.

Exploring India

India has a lot to see and experience, so we’d recommend you plan your trip around the wedding and go see other parts of the country. From the big city vibes of Bombay, the chill times that is Goa, a trip to the Taj, or just relax on a houseboat in Kerala, there is plenty to see in India. Need tips on how to plan your trip? Our entourage and us are happy to help!

Accommodation

The following hotels have been quality proofed by us! We recommend them because they're relatively close to the venues, warm and cozy, and a bang for the buck! Let them know that you're there for the "Sana and Florent Wedding" by shooting them an email to the contact listed on their website - they should be able to give you a discount.

If you don't mind living in a communal safehouse with some of our other awesome guests, then let us know and we will hook you up! Tell us what you have in mind: RSVP

Getting Around

Auto rickshaws are available throughout the city, these are probably your best bet for shorter routes. Plus, it feels like a fun joy ride. The ride-sharing app Ola Cabs is Mangalore's version of Uber and is the most hassle free way to get from place to place. Roadtripping? Consider Zoomcar - Mangalore’s version of Zipcar. If you're feeling extra adventurous, you might want to try the local buses, although we highly recommend you stay away from those! :)

Things to do

Well, the wedding festivities are going to take up most of your time when in Mangalore, but:

Food!

If we were you, we’d binge out on the food in Mangalore. Although Mangalore has almost all the popular fast food chains, we'd be very disappointed if you didn't try the local cuisine!

  • Must-eats are ghee roast, kori rotti, golibaje, neer dosa, kube mutli (cockles/clams in a gravy with mini rice dumplings) and pathrade (steamed rice cakes with shredded colocasia leaves).

  • Popular restaurants include Gajalee, Machali, Village, Kudla, or Giri Manja’s.

  • For dessert, you have to visit the iconic Pabba’s Ice Cream Parlour - everything on the menu is amazing, so you may consider an encore visit.

  • If you have any room left, go grab some sitaful (custard apple) or tender coconut ice cream from Naturals

  • Of course, when the Mangalorean sun drains you out, make sure you find your street-side sugarcane or tender coconut juice vendor. Pro-tip, ask for chaat masala (Indian street snack spice blend) in your drink! ;)
